On the motorway at 130 km/h, real range is about 25-35% lower than the WLTP figure declared by the manufacturer. This is because aerodynamic drag rises exponentially with speed.
Practical examples: a Tesla Model 3 Long Range (602 km WLTP) covers around 380-420 real km. A Fiat 500e (320 km WLTP) covers around 200-230 km. A Hyundai Ioniq 5 (507 km WLTP) covers around 330-370 km.

Yes, significantly. In winter (below 5°C) range can drop by 20-40% due to cabin heating and battery chemistry. In summer with air conditioning the drop is smaller, around 10-15%.
Tip: use VoltRoute's SOH slider to simulate a degraded battery or winter conditions. If your battery is at 90% health and you're travelling in winter, set SOH to 70-75% for a very conservative calculation.
Absolutely. The Milan-Rome route (about 580 km) requires 1-2 charging stops for most models. With a Tesla Model Y Long Range a single 20-minute stop at a Supercharger is enough.
The A1 motorway is well covered by Tesla Supercharger, IONITY, Free To X, Ewiva, and Enel X. VoltRoute calculates the optimal route with the minimum number of stops needed.

If you select a Tesla vehicle and don't choose specific operators, VoltRoute shows only the Tesla Superchargers. For all other brands it shows every available fast charger.
If your model isn't in the list, use the AI search: type the vehicle name and VoltRoute finds it automatically with the correct technical data.
VoltRoute automatically searches for hotels with EV chargers in the cities along the route. For each hotel you see the distance from the centre, the charger's power (AC/DC), and the indicative price.
You can set the departure and return dates, the number of adults and children, the data is passed directly to Booking.com for a precise search.
Tip: overnight charging at the hotel (AC 22 kW) is often free or cheap, and lets you leave in the morning with a full battery.
Always from 20% to 80%. In this range charging is at maximum speed. Above 80% the speed drops sharply to protect the battery, charging from 80% to 100% can take more time than from 0% to 80%.

It's rare, but it happens. Here's how to handle it:

• Use the operator filter to diversify: if you select IONITY + Enel X + Free To X, you always have alternatives
• Stations with multiple charging points (VoltRoute shows the number) are less likely to all be in use
• In an emergency, many shopping centres and hotels have usable AC chargers
